Self Storage FAQs
It is a requirement of self-storage that all property is insured. We offer insurance to our policy which is storage specific. Household Insurance rarely covers off-site storage and you have to pay to make changes to your policy so the House and Stock insurance cover works out cheaper and you can be sure you have the right kind of cover for your goods.
We request that you accurately value your goods on the commencement of your rental so that we can price you accordingly for insurance. Insurance is sold separately because this helps to keep rental costs down and allows customers to only pay for the insurance and the storage they need.
We need to hold some of your information on file along with two copies of identification. We have strict procedures in place to ensure full confidentiality and our staff members are trained to adhere to these practices. We will save data onto a secure server which can only be accessed internally by staff. We will hold all data confidentially in line with the Data Protection Act 1998.

We would like the opportunity to keep you up to date with what is happening at House and Stock. In order to be environmentally friendly, we aim to do as much of this by email. We will let you know of any changes to policies and procedures and any special offers for new or existing clients.
As with any rental you will be required to give written notice when you wish to vacate. Please let us know 2 weeks in advance of your move-out date. Provided you have given the appropriate notice you will be refunded any days not used.
We are open every day:
We aim to open most bank holidays as this is when customers are free to access their storage. Check the first page of the website for opening hours in advance or telephone us to verify.
HOW SECURE IS MY UNIT?
Our premises are described as being a fortress built with all access fortified. Units are made from steel and we have fire and theft precautions in place for added protection. You have a responsibility to ensure you keep your unit locked. CCTV is also in operation on site, as well as fob-activated secure access and the premises have a monitored security alarm. We have full control of our perimeter fence and building as we do not share our premises with another company.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I LOSE MY KEY?
In the unfortunate circumstance that you misplace both your keys for your padlock, please speak to a member of staff to arrange for the removal of the lock on your unit.
HOW DO I PAY FOR MY UNIT?
We accept debit/credit card payments and direct debits. For security purposes, we prefer not to accept cash payments for the initial instalment.
